RPC Rushden Factory Tour
The Product Design department at the University of Northampton is maintaining a broad variety of live client engagement and factory trips to partner companies. Our team is currently working with RPC Company (Rigid Plastic Containers) in Rushden, a leading manufacturer producing structural plastic packaging, utilizing a blow moulding technology.
Under the guidance of a former University of Northampton graduate, currently working as a staff member at RPC, our first-year Product Design students had the opportunity to visit the RPC factory in Rushden and gain an invaluable insight into the manufacturing processes, as well as explore the production areas, the factory floor, the quality control department and the company’s Innovation Centre. Here they were challenged to actively get involved in the creative and engineering design of the packaging. They were also given a live design brief, which the students will work on during the first term of the next academic year and will present back to the client.
